- performed special function crank position sensor and cam position sensor test with scan tool both signals tested okay at this time vehicle not equipped with crank sensor relearn procedure recommend diagnosis for check engine light
- Verify customer complaint and vehicle's performance. Scan computer system for codes using a scanner & diagnostic analyzer. Check sensor operation. If codes are present in computer system record codes. Advise of any additional inspection services needed. Visually inspect engine performance parts for damage or excessive wear. Check and advise of any needed or recommended repairs. scanned for diagnostic trouble codes multiple codes stored in system p0335 crankshaft position sensor A circuit fault , p0605 internal control module ROM error old crank position sensor harness still on motor and has been cut new sensor harness just dangling, found crank sensor not seated correctly in bore all the way removed sensor and found 2 orings on sensor should only have 1 removed old or ing found mounting bolt to be cross threaded into engine block repaired threads and installed crank position sensor correctly now crank position sensor air gap is within specification cleared codes road tested vehicle operating as designed at this time and tachometer is operating as designed removed old cut crank sensor harness and routed new harness correctly
