- Service engine soon light on. P0442 evap emissions system leak detected (small) P0406 evap system high purge flow. Leak test evap system. Found evap purge control solenoid stuck wide open at 18 inches of vacuum when it should be closed. Charcoal canister has some fuel in it from failed valve. Recommend replacing faulty purge valve and drive cycles should clear out charcoal canister. When fuel tank is full excess vapor is being drawn into engine by failed valve. Purge valve should take care of all problems.
